TAD 6V6GT-STR REDBASE PREMIUM Selected Tube

With the TAD 6V6GT-STR REDBASE we have succeeded in combining the tonal characteristics of an NOS 6V6GT such as from RCA or GE with the current requirements. t is a heavy duty 6V6GT tube, which can handle a higher plate voltage than regular 6V6GT tubes.

The TAD 6V6GT-STR REDBASE shines with the typical NOS "sweet top end" and at the same time a strikingly dense and complex midrange. Especially with this midrange characteristic they achieve a liveliness in tone that only NOS 6V6GT achieve and otherwise remains unmatched. Even when pushed into saturation there are no harsh upper mids, which is frequently the case with other 6V6s. Sweet full-bodied tone with silky highs

We recommend the TAD 6V6GT-STR REDBASE for all 6V6 power amps when a full yet freely defined tone is desired.

The ideal tube for Fender Delxue Tweed 5E3 or Blackface Princeton Reverb amps, single ended Class A amps like the Fender Tweed Champ, Vibro Champ, Fender Champion 600 or the Univalve.

Many boutique amp builders use the TAD 6V6GT-STR REDBASE, but the sounds of modern designs like amps from REVV or Mesa Boogie also benefit from the TAD 6V6GT-STR REDBASE.

Sweet and musical

In a 5e3 Tweed Deluxe through a Jensen P12Q, compared to EHX 6V6, these have a more relaxed midrange, a bit more controlled low end, nicer break up, less fizz, overall more musical, but powerful and capable of real nasty tones. The EHX, in my amp at least, had a strident quality, an annoying peak around 1 kHz that was pretty fatiguing. Can´t speak of longevity yet, just broken in!

6V6GT REDBASE are probably the best I've used so far

these 6V6GT REDBASE are probably the best 6V6 I've used so far. They have a perfect and very pleasant clipping, and a high output power. The plate maximum power is slightly higher than the data sheet indicates for standard 6V6. Very reliable also, that isn’t always expected for this tube type

I have a Vox Bruno 1x12 that uses 4 6V6's. I took out the lifeless EH quad and put these in. Wow, what a huge difference it made. This amp was a demo model and the EH's might have just been tired, but I'm pretty happy about how these sound. Great low end, sweet highs.

Very Good choice for Upgrading Your Guitar Amp...I switch my "Stock Tubes" on my Ibanez TSA 15 Head for a pair of those tubes and now it sounds Warmer...Better Sustain And Gain Too...(I have also changed my Preamp tubes for 2 JJ's Gold pin and regular ECC83 (12AX7)...A lot Better!!! More "Living Sound".Now my Basses are well defined and the Mids are a bit louder and sweet.And the Highs are not too harsh...Its a Good Choice of Amp Tubes...For the price,I give a 5 !!!

Âpres la fin de vie d'un quadruplet de 6v6gt rca black plate grey glass dans un ampli hifi,(6v6x4, 6n7gtx2, ef86x2) et bien les choses sont... oui différentes.

Bien sur les tubes n'ont que quelques heures, donc impressions a redonner apres usage.

Bel équilibre tonal et cohérence sur l'ensemble du spectre bien que moins enveloppant que les rca.

Les aigus sont vifs sans être agressifs mais un peut maigrelets, mais se développerons surement avec le vieillissement du tube.

Médiums toniques sans être criards.

Graves précis, profond et fermes.

Une impression générale de force, de contrôle, et de dynamisme.

Je dirais que non ce n'est pas comme une vielle rca, c'est une nouvelle créature:

Une main de fer dans un gant de velours.

All power tubes labeled Premium Selected have passed the following tests:

- Low Noise Test

- Microphonic Test

- Listening Tests

- Shorts & Leakage Tests

Premium RT-Matching of Power Tubes

Our Premium Matching is an exact matching of power tubes with identical Plate Current (PC) and Transconductance (TC).

TAD Premium Selected tubes are guaranteed for a period of 6 months (according to terms of warranties)

for the quality criteria mentioned above.

Preamp tubes

All preamp tubes labeled Premium Selected have passed the following tests:

- Low Noise Test

- Microphonic Test

- Gain Test

- Sonic Tests

- Shock Tests

- Listening Tests

- Balanced Output Test

Premium Selected

We call the tubes SELECTED which have passed above tests and thus qualify as reliable all-round tubes of their type.Typically this is around 30-60% from a batch that receives the SELECTED label from TAD.

For applications in particularly sensitive functions such as V1 or input stage with combo amps, V1 in high-gain amps, tube microphones and phono preamps, we recommend using the respective HIGHGRADE selection

But only those tubes which pass these tests best are labeled Highgrades.Typically this is approx. 3-10% from a production batch that qualifies for the HIGHGRADE rating from TAD.

Matching and Selecting Options for Preamp Tubes

Matching in Pairs for preamp tubes means that two tubes show identical gain, hence, four characteristically identical systems.

This matching method includes our Balance-Selection. We highly recommend this matching method for hi-fi systems.
