Switches, Boards, and Potentiometers – Controlling and Governing
Not only do our beloved tube amplifiers require switches, boards, and potentiometers to indulge us with the sweet sound of fat riffs, but guitars and basses also need the appropriate replacement parts to do their job. Therefore, we have expanded our stock of replacement parts to include potentiometers and more, offering our customers a selection of high-quality parts. When it comes to our guitar components, we rely on excellent quality from renowned manufacturers such as CTS, Switchcraft, or Mojotone.
Switches
In addition to various micro and mini switches, the pickup selector switches, in particular, dominate the body of modern electric guitars. While the basic function of the pickups does not differ significantly from manufacturer to manufacturer, the switching and selection combinations are hardly limited.
Therefore, we offer a wide selection of freely assignable switches, from the classic toggle switch with three switch positions mainly used by Gibson, to 4-way switches, to the Fender-style 5-way selector switch.
High-quality parts from Switchcraft or from our own TAD line are available to our customers.
We also offer the appropriate knobs for potentiometers and switch tips for guitars.
Potentiometers
Potentiometers control the sound of the guitar internally. In addition to adjusting the output signal via one or more volume potis, most models have one or more tone potentiometers that control the respective sound of the pickups.
The first sign of a faulty or defective potentiometer is an audible scratching when the sound is changed. Later, the potis may completely fail and no longer allow any change in the audio.
To achieve clean and, above all, noise-free control of the tone, high-quality and continuously operating potentiometers should be used as much as possible. We rely on potentiometers from Alpha, CTS, and our own TAD series - ensuring clean processing and silent operation of the potentiometer.
Capacitors
Depending on the manufacturer of the internal electronics, capacitors are more or less used to influence special tone characteristics of the respective instrument. Rich midrange, singing highs, and fat bass can be further enhanced and polished through the use of high-quality capacitors. We stock a large number of capacitors - whether it's Jimmy Page wiring or 50s style wiring - this is where it gets down to the nitty-gritty.
