Switches and Optocouplers - Clean Channel Switching for Tube Amplifiers
Turning a gentle verse into a roaring and juicy chorus - switches and optocouplers make it possible in a multi-channel amplifier. Not only must the switches themselves be of the highest quality, but the internal components must also be in order to prevent disruptive noises, incorrect circuits, or blocked channel changes.
With our wide selection of switches, relays, footswitches, and optocouplers, our customers have all the options to master their sound changes smoothly and precisely. They just have to play their song themselves...
Of course, in addition to channel change switches, we also offer mini switches, relays, voltage selectors, standby and mains switches - did we mention that we love good electronics?
Footswitches
Almost all major amp manufacturers have relegated channel selection to external footswitch apparatuses. This allows the inclined musician to keep both hands on the strings and smoothly navigate through the musical waters.
With high-quality footswitches, this transition happens almost imperceptibly, cleanly, and above all: quietly. Nothing interrupts the musical flow as much as the loud click during channel changes.
Therefore, with our selection of footswitches for amps, we offer a way to replace aging components and make the tube amp versatile again.
Mains and Ground switches, and switches in general
All switches on the amp or musical equipment must be able to handle a lot to perform their service successfully. In the heat of battle, switches are sometimes operated vigorously and channels are changed without much restraint: Well-made and high-quality components greatly extend the lifespan of the components used.
Therefore, we only use switches from reputable suppliers for use in the amplifier. Whether it's a self-built amp, an old Fender tube, or new amplifiers that can benefit from an upgrade - our selectors and other replacement parts for amplifiers enhance your equipment with reliable technology.
Optocouplers - what are they exactly?
These small and inconspicuous components have a lot to offer: A small photodiode receives signals from a light-emitting diode and thus transmits the signal between two galvanically isolated systems. For example, optocouplers are used in a tremolo/vibrato to modulate the signal.
The light-sensitive parts of the optocouplers undergo a slow aging process and lose their function after about 20-30 years. Replacing the optocouplers can therefore fix unpleasant noise, poor depth of effect, or missing functions.
