Tubeset for Hughes & Kettner Switchblade

For the preamp section, we recommend our RT-12AX7 TAD 12AX7/ECC83 REDBASE Premium Selected for a big and warm clean sound with mellow top-end. It slightly reduces any harsh brightness while bringing some punch to the mids.

For the power tubes, we only use a matched quad of our RT124 EL34-STR REDBASE TAD Premium Matched. These very dynamic tubes are an authentic remake of the British Mullard EL34. Their clear and harmonic open top end allows for great clean tone and at the same time, the TAD EL34-STR REDBASE offer incredibly powerful mids and equally powerful bass.

The Switchblade TSC 100 runs on autobias.

The standard Switchbald requires a bias-adjustment. We recommend setting the bias to about 30-35mA.

If you still have the original H&K power tubes, just tell us the grade on the sticker and we can supply tubes with the same grading and re-biassing the amp is not necessary.
