While electron tubes actively engage in tone control and processing, a large number of passive components are present in a tube amplifier. Whether it's potentiometers, resistors, or capacitors – we offer a wide selection of these passive components for amplifiers. Thanks to our extensive inventory, we can offer components from CTS, ENGL, Mesa, and many other major manufacturers.
Potentiometers and Knobs
Potentiometers influence the flow of the signal through their variable resistance, thus affecting various factors in the sound of an amp. They are also used in electric guitars and effects units.
A faulty potentiometer initially manifests itself through audible noises (unpleasant scratching or hissing) and eventually ceases to function altogether. Annoying, but thanks to our wide range of high-quality passive components, not a problem. We particularly ensure minimal deviations from the specified reference values in our products. By selecting high-quality components, unpleasant surprises and sound losses can be avoided.

Passive Components: Capacitors
The capacitor is a wonderful component that, although small and inconspicuous, can have a significant impact on the sound of an amplifier. Passive components such as capacitors, including polarized capacitors known as electrolytic capacitors, can store electrical charge and thus influence the circuitry within the amp.
We offer a wide range of capacitors, including TAD Vintage Oil Caps and TAD Audio Caps, among others, all of which are of high quality.
Especially during a complete amplifier rebuild, passive components like our capacitor kits are suitable for keeping track of the necessary capacitors. With kits for Fender Blackface, Bassman, or Tweed, complete restorations are also possible.
