excellent balance

I ordered a matched pair for my SE hi-fi amplifier. These immediately took me into the music even without breaking in. Perfect balance of warm vintage sound, but still precision and brightness in the top end. Doesn't push the midrange into your lap. The bass is punchy and just the right amount of soft. For example, the JJ tube is noticeably softer in bass and more dominant in the midrange. Very close to the TAD tube, but a little softer and smoother. Perhaps the best sounding modern EL34 tubes.

Poor matching

I bought a Matching pair of Tung-Sol EL34B tubes at the TAD store. I tested the tubes with my tube curve tracer u-Tracer V6.1. At an anode voltage of 400V and a bias voltage of -35V, the anode current is about 48 mA for first tube and 43 mA for the second tube. A difference of 10% is too large for matched tubes.
