Tubeset for Mesa Boogie Express 5:50, also PLUS

The tubeset for the Mesa Boogie Express 5:25 uses our RT030 TAD 7025 / E83CC-Cz HIGHGRADE as input tube. Note that the Express uses the V2 position as input stage! This tube is outstanding because of its high gain, and yet low microphony, powerful middles and a round, rich overtone sound. Played clean, the TAD 7025 / E83CC-Cz HIGHGRADE delivers a warm, liquid tone which is very responsive to dynamic playing.

All the other preamp positions (V1, V3-V5) have our RT-12AX7 TAD 12AX7/ECC83 REDBASE Premium Selected. This tube delivers very good gain, tight deep bass, fat mids and a silky top end with overall definition and brightness. It is selected with balanced systems and improves overall response. Best for clean tones, as well as for sounds requiring deep-bass power like any modern preamp.

For the power tubes, we recommend a matched pair of our RT102 6L6GCM-STR REDBASE TAD PREMIUM Selected.

With the right amount of power in the low end, clear and transparent highs, they fill everything from big warm cleans to modern hard rock sounds with life and bite! This tube generates the sound of rock legends!

If you do still use the original Mesa Boogie tubes, please tell us the color-grade and we can provide matching tubes, so that no re-biassing is needed. This combination will guarantee a maximum in gain and power, with very little noise, tight bass and silky highs.
