In the first position (V1), this tube set features our RT030 TAD 7025 / E83CC-Cz HIGHGRADE which is outstanding because of its high gain, low microphony, powerful mids and a round, rich overtone sound. Played clean, the 7025 delivers a warm liquid tone which is very responsive to dynamic playing.

The following three positions (V2-V4) have our RT095 TAD ECC83-WA PREMIUM Selection. This tube delivers very good gain, tight deep bass, fat mids and a silky top end with overall definition and brightness. It is selected for balanced systems and improved overall response. Best for clean tones and sounds requiring deep-bass power, like any modern preamp.

For the power tubes, we choose a matched pair of our RT272 TAD-EL84-Cz with high-class cathode coating, plate options and gold grid wire, and therefore overall reliability. The sound will be very harmonic in the middle and treble frequencies, without adding too much power to the bass.

As the DSL201 is a Class A/B, bias has to be adjusted. We recommend setting it to 25mA per valve.

Please measure the diametre of your power tubes before placing the order. Older models of the DSL need smaller tubes (d=20.5mm) - which are no longer available.
