In the first position (V1), this tube set features our RT030 TAD 7025 / E83CC-Cz HIGHGRADE which is outstanding because of its high gain, but low microphony, powerful middles and a round, rich overtone sound. Played clean, the TAD 7025 / E83CC-Cz HIGHGRADE delivers a warm liquid tone which is very responsive to dynamic playing.

For the second position (V2), we recommend our RT095 12AX7A/ECC83 TAD Premium Selected.This tube provides for very good gain, tight deep bass, fat mids and a silky top end with overall definition and brightness. It is selected with balanced systems and improves overall response

The third position (V3-V5) has our RT095 TAD ECC83-WA PREMIUM Selection. This tube delivers very good gain, tight deep bass, fat mids and a silky top end with overall definition and brightness. It is selected with balanced systems and improves overall response. Best for clean tones, as well as for sounds requiring deep-bass power like any modern preamp.

For the power tubes, we recommend a matched quad of our popular RT314 TAD 5881WXT, a very dependable 6L6GC type tube with a more modern and aggressive character. It has slightly less power than a 6L6GC but has a special bite in the upper mid range, which allows your sound to cut through on stage. The 5881WXT is used in many of the recent Fender amps, but it is our recommendation for hard rock and low-tuned guitar playing.
