Our Tubeset for the Hiwatt DG504 features our outstanding RT030 TAD 7025 / E83CC-Cz HIGHGRADE in the first position (V1) because of its high gain, but low microphony, powerful mids and a round, rich overtone sound - and therefore perfect for the input stage of your preamp.

For the second position (V2), we recommend our RT-12AX7 12AX7A/ECC83 TAD Premium Selected. This tube provides for very good gain, tight deep bass, fat mids and a silky top end with overall definition and brightness. It is selected with balanced systems and improves overall response

For the two following positions (V3, V4), our RT-12AX7 TAD 12AX7/ECC83 REDBASE Premium Selected work best. This tube delivers very good gain, tight deep bass, fat mids and a silky top end with overall definition and brightness. It is selected with balanced systems and improves overall response. Best for clean tones, as well as for sounds requiring deep-bass power like any modern preamp.

For the power tubes nothing but a matched pair of RT122 EL34-STR REDBASE TAD Premium Matched are to be used. The clear and harmonic open top end allows for great clean tone and at the same time the TAD EL34-STR REDBASE offers incredibly powerful mids and equally powerful bass. Consequently, this EL34 provides a maximum of gain and dynamic response.

Idling current should be set to 35-40mA per tube.
