For the input stage, this set uses our RT-12AX7 TAD 12AX7/ECC83 REDBASE Premium Selected for a big and warm clean sound with mellow top-end. It slightly reduces any harsh brightness while bringing some punch to the mids.

The power stage uses our RT831 TAD TAD 6V6GT-STR REDBASE for a sweet and full-bodied tone with silky highs.

This tube provides a detailed and powerful tone with lots of sustain; characteristics you would only expect from the finest NOS 6V6GTs from the 50s and 60s. Even when pushed into saturation there are no harsh upper mids which is frequently the case with other 6V6s.

Our RT501 5Y3GT / 6087 TAD PREMIUM SELECTED rectifier tube for smaller vintage amps like the 5F1 Fender Tweed Champ is the closest in performance and relaiblity to the vintage 5Y3GT of the 1950s.

Since the amp runs on a Class A mode, no biasing is required.
