The all new TAD 7025 / E83CC REDBASE HIGHGRADE Selection - Powerful Gain, Warm and Airy Tone and Zero Microphony

PREMIUM HIGHGRADE selected quality for the most demanding amp stages. This tube works greatly for warm clean tones and creamy overdrive. We recommend this tube for the 1st gain stage and as input tube for all applications. It upgrades any 12AX7A and ECC83 tubes and replaces E83CC tubes.

This HIGHGRADE Selection is the tip-of-the-top quality at the lowest noise (microphony, hum, hiss) level. Tipically only 2-5% out of the whole production of this tube meets the HIGHGRADE requirements.

Fine, unobtrusive highs, complex, dense mids and clear real bass. Selected for demanding applications for maximum smoothness and zero microphonics - even with very sensitive input stages of high-gain amplifiers.

Ideally suited and our clear recommendation for the 1st gain stage of guitar amps, headphone amps, tube microphones and for the extremely sensitive phono preamp-stages of audio amplifiers.

In terms of sound, this TAD 7025 / E83CC REDBASE® stands for maximum transparency and depth definition and puts an end to musty or sappy highs. Airy, silky highs combined with tight but by no means overemphasised bass are the hallmarks of this 7025 HIGHGRADE.

Thus the TAD 7025 / E83CC REDBASE® as V1+V2 ideally supports the traditional Fender® sound and also brings more liveliness and brilliance to an AC30®. It's clear that these characteristics also bring any Boogie® or Marshall® to the fore.

The TAD 7025 / E83CC REDBASE® can replace any ECC83, E83CC, ECC803S, 12AX7, 12AX7A, 12AX7M, 12AX7WA/WB/WC/LPS/EH, 5751, 7025, CV492 and CV4004. Also replaces the MESA® SPAX7-A

DISTINCTION from RT093-HG 7025WB and RT030 7025 / E83CC HIGHGRADE:

Compared to the RT030 and RT093-HG, the RT-7025 has a smoother overall responce and better linearity qualifiying for natural clean tones and relaxed HiFi audio listening. The RT093-HG shows a little more edge in the high-mid range. As a result, it asserts itself tonally very well, which might make perfect sense in a band structure.

RT030 is emphasising the midrange a bit more and thus brings more warmth and a little less brilliance and depth definition than the RT-7025 and RT093-HG.

The RT-7025 has the lowest microphony of these 3 which might be espicially important for use in tube microphones, audio system input stages.and as input stage tube in any guitar amplifier.

When does a tube become a Premium Selected tube?

Power tubes

All power tubes labeled Premium Selected have passed the following tests:

- Plate Current (PC) and Amplification (TC)

- Low Noise Test

- Microphonic Test

- Sonic Tests

- Shock Tests

- Listening Tests

- Shorts & Leakage Tests

- Deep-Drive & Soak Test

Premium RT-Matching of Power Tubes

Our Premium Matching is an exact matching of power tubes with identical Plate Current (PC) and Transconductance (TC).

TAD Premium Selected tubes are guaranteed for a period of 12 months (according to terms of warranties)

for the quality criteria mentioned above.

Preamp tubes

All preamp tubes labeled Premium Selected have passed the following tests:

- Low Noise Test

- Microphonic Test

- Gain Test

- Sonic Tests

- Shock Tests

- Listening Tests

- Balance Output Test

Premium Selected

We call the tubes SELECTED which have passed above tests and thus qualify as reliable all-round tubes of their type.Typically this is around 30-60% from a batch that receives the SELECTED label from TAD.

For applications in particularly sensitive functions such as V1 or input stage with combo amps, V1 in high-gain amps, tube microphones and phono preamps, we recommend using the respective HIGHGRADE selection

HIGHGRADE SELECTION

But only those tubes which pass these tests best are labeled Highgrades.Typically this is approx. 3-10% from a production batch that qualifies for the HIGHGRADE rating from TAD.

Matching and Selecting Options for Preamp Tubes

Matching in Pairs for preamp tubes means that two tubes show identical gain, hence, four characteristically identical systems.

This matching method includes our Balance-Selection. We highly recommend this matching method for hi-fi systems.
