Nice and punchy but sometimes a bit ice picky

This tube is worth trying! Retains the signal well and you don't need to be afraid to put it into the V1 of an engl fireball. The amp is very demanding on microphonics of tubes and this one shines. Although it can be a bit more ice picky in the higher register, I still love this tube as a V1, especially if you are not the lead guitar, but rhythm and want to get that extra cut in the mix. It is moderate gain, not as gainy as a JJ and definitely more balanced. The JJ sounds always just too much mids and flat/thin in the mix, while this just sounds open and crispy.

A good clean sound with bass and midrange. The gain is good for rock and hard rock but it's a low noise tube. A good tube for mic preamp
