Warm, clean tone with creamy overdrive!

PREMIUM selected quality for the most demanding amp stages. This tube works greatly for warm clean tones and creamy overdrive. We recommend this tube for the 1st gain stage and as input tube. It upgrades 12AX7A and ECC83 tubes and replaces E83CC tubes.

The HIGHGRADE Selection is the tip-of-the-top quality at the lowest noise (microphony, hum, hiss) level. Tipically only 0,5-2% out of the whole production of this tube meet the HIGHGRADE requirements.

NOTE: due to extreme demanding TAD-Selection criteria, the availability of this tube is limited. Please check the information about availability.

The TAD 7025 Highgrade can replace any ECC83, E83CC, ECC803S, 12AX7, 12AX7A, 12AX7M, 12AX7WA/WB/WC/LPS/EH, 5751, 7025, CV492 and CV4004

DISTINCTION from RT093-HG 7025WB and RT030 7025 / E83CC HIGHGRADE:

Compared to the RT030 and RT093-HG, the RT010 has a smoother overall responce and better linearity qualifiying for natural clean tones and relaxed HiFi audio listening. The RT093-HG shows a little more edge in the high-mid range. As a result, it asserts itself tonally very well, which makes perfect sense in a band structure.

RT030 is emphasising the midrange a bit more and thus brings more warmth and a little less brilliance and depth definition than the RT010 and RT093-HG.

Due to their tonal structure the RT093-HG and the RT030 are even less prone to microphonics than the RT010 which qualifies these for use with extremely microphonic-critical amps.

The RT010 has the lowest floor noise of these 3 which might be espicially important for use in tube microphones and audio system input stages.

Excellent

I have this tube in V1 in my Marshall jcm2000 dsl 100 watts. Clean tones are warm and harmonic, overdrive tones are creamy with clarity of notes even with chords. Highly recommended!

The Phono preamplifier I made there is about ten years already, is based on the Marantz Model 7 scheme. Three 12AX7 tubes are used, two "V1" for Right & Left, and "V2" in Cathode Follower. In order to optimize this well-known installation, I chose Mcap / Mundorf / Audyn Cap and Stiroflex capacitors.

More complicated, was to make the right choice, and find the right tubes to complete this Preamp.

After an email exchange with Stefan and Andreas, proposing the 7025 HIGHRADE TAD (RT010), I make the choice for this Tube in "V1" while keeping my JAN Philips 12AX7WA in "V2" (my favorite in this position ... ...).

Once again, the Tube Amp Doctor team was convinced and very well oriented.

Since these tubes are in use on my Phono Preamp, I left out my CDs.

I put this fabulous tube in my v1 princeton reverb!! AAMAZING sound, sweet, warm, high definite notes, improve sound quality and sustain, if you wanna somethin that make your amp sound like a true amp in order to get the guitar sound itself buy this tube!congratulations TAD.

Slightly cleaner than the Philips 12AX7 it replaced in my Silverface Champ (1973). It has more punch and clarity, and the drive is more detailed. No more microphonic issues.

It is still running in, but is getting better every hour!

Absolutelly a must if your V1 goes microphonic, specially in small combos but, sonically, it sounds to me a bit sterile, too much refinated.

My Mesa Triaxis needs 5 tubes, and the first two (1st gain stage) now I use TAD 7025 HIGHGRADE Premium Selected giving to my Triaxis warm clean tones and creamy overdrive!!!

I really recommend these tubes for who need a great professional sound.

well

On my DeVille I replaced all the old 7025 (URSS made, originally installed by Fender) with the TAD 7025: now the sound comes out fastener, more sustained. On drive channel things even goes better, making the gain coming earlier. New power, more than a new DeVille

When does a tube become a Premium Selected tube?

Power tubes

All power tubes labeled Premium Selected have passed the following tests:

- Plate Current (PC) and Amplification (TC)

- Low Noise Test

- Microphonic Test

- Sonic Tests

- Shock Tests

- Listening Tests

- Shorts & Leakage Tests

Premium RT-Matching of Power Tubes

Our Premium Matching is an exact matching of power tubes with identical Plate Current (PC) and Transconductance (TC).

TAD Premium Selected tubes are guaranteed for a period of 6 months (according to terms of warranties)

for the quality criteria mentioned above.

Preamp tubes

All preamp tubes labeled Premium Selected have passed the following tests:

- Low Noise Test

- Microphonic Test

- Gain Test

- Sonic Tests

- Shock Tests

- Listening Tests

- Balanced Output Test

Premium Selected

We call the tubes SELECTED which have passed above tests and thus qualify as reliable all-round tubes of their type.Typically this is around 30-60% from a batch that receives the SELECTED label from TAD.

For applications in particularly sensitive functions such as V1 or input stage with combo amps, V1 in high-gain amps, tube microphones and phono preamps, we recommend using the respective HIGHGRADE selection

But only those tubes which pass these tests best are labeled Highgrades.Typically this is approx. 3-10% from a production batch that qualifies for the HIGHGRADE rating from TAD.

Matching and Selecting Options for Preamp Tubes

Matching in Pairs for preamp tubes means that two tubes show identical gain, hence, four characteristically identical systems.

This matching method includes our Balance-Selection. We highly recommend this matching method for hi-fi systems.
