Die NOS 6N23P-EV (=kyrillic 6H23π-EB) tube is a very noticeable upgrade over the Electro Harmonix 6922 tube. They are incredibly durable (ratet > 5,000 operation hours) and can handle the punishment of modern pre-amps, including those made by Audible Illusions. They excel in detail, speed, and soundstage. The highs have air and sound natural.

This premium Russian built NOS 6922 tube replacement is also known by various Russian names, including 6N23n-EB, 6H23N-EB and 6N23P-EV. These are the hard to find NOS (new old stock) of premium quality in both sound and construction.

The 6922 / 6DJ8 tube type is equivalent to the European ECC88 / E88CC tube and can be used in any 6922, 6DJ8 or ECC88 circuit.

Heavenly Sound

I’m very new to tube-rolling. I’ve had a hybrid Musical Fidelity amp running a pair of ESL57s for many years, which has always sounded good, but not outstanding. I recently had the amp upgraded, new caps, resistors, re-wired etc. and the speakers overhauled with new panels, but my system still lacked sparkle. I then finally realised that perhaps the original valves in the pre-amp stage were the problem, so after a lot of research I decided on these Reflector valves. I have to say that I was very surprised how good these sound from day one. They are exactly as described in many reviews and forums, very clear and well balanced across the frequency range, extended controlled bass, lovely mids, good sparkle in the highs, but not at all bright. The soundstage is wide and 3-dimensional. Absolutely wonderful, my system now sounds truly high end, the music sounds live and real. The best upgrade I’ve done and probably the cheapest. I would absolutely recommend anyone thinking about updating their tubes to take the plunge with these.

Lots of detail

I was long on the fence spending 40 euros plus delivery on this tube for my Cavalli Tube Hybrid headphone amp. The headphone amp did come with a decent Electro Harmonix tube and I'd read so many reviews saying the CTH amp was "perfectly tuned" for that tube. I'm glad I eventually did pull the trigger on this fairly expensive 80's tube! It adds so much life to the sound. Detail, especially in the highs, is excellent. The sound stage is wider and clearer.
